About Us

Realizing the need to open a Thakali Bhansaghar organisation in Nepal, even though there has been talk or efforts for the past several years, it has not been able to materialize. A clean and tidy kitchen reflecting the Thakali culture, original and delicious food, fast and friendly service with a smile, and customer satisfaction are considered as the main principles of a Thakali kitchen. Since the trend of opening and operating Thakali Bhansaghars without imbibing such principles in Nepal has been increasing for the past few days, some Thakali intellectuals and existing businessman relating to Thakali Bhansaghars in Kathmandu felt it necessary to discourage or stop the distortions arising from that trend. As a result of continuous consultation and joint efforts of them, the organisation called Thakali Bhansaghar Association Nepal was registered and established in District Administration Office, Kathmandu on 11th of Chaitra, 2077

Although Thakali Bhansaghar Association Nepal initially covers Thakali Bhansaghars operating in Kathmandu Valley, later it is aimed to gradually cover Thakali Bhansaghars of all over Nepal.

To make Thakali Food accessible and ubiquitous through the expansion of Thakali Bhansaghar-business.

Strategic Goal

To promote the Thakali Food market by creating an environment where the originality and quality of Thakali Bhansaghars and Thakali Food will always be maintained and to bring it from the country to abroad.

Objectives

  • To bring uniformity and quality in the production of Thakali Food and the service delivery of Thakali Bhansaghars and to support and encourage them to make them quality and consumer friendly.
  • To expand brand of Thakali Food to international level through the trademark of Thakali Bhansaghar.
  • To contribute to the preservation and promotion of Thakali culture and enhancement the employment and income of Thakali people through the promotion of Thakali Bhansaghar-business.


Functions

This Organisation will do the following to achieve its objectives:

  • Making businessmen who do business like kitchen, restaurant, hotel, catering, cafeteria, resort, homestay, mobile restaurant or other similar nature under the name of Thakali Bhansaghar or Thakali Food, as members of the organization, determine the standards of Thakali Bhansaghar and Thakali Food and list the members' Bhansaghars according to such standards. In such a way trying to bring uniformity in Bhansaghar related business operations.
  • By maintaining Thakali traditional taste and quality of commercially prepared or produced Thakali Food, encouraging Thakali Bhansaghars and Thakali Food businessmen of Thakali style or standards to expand within the country and outside the country through collective trade marks or franchises.
  • Creating a website of the organization and also creating a mobile app about the list of Thakali Bhansaghars and Thakali Food vendors, their level, Thakali food dishes available there, etc. and to make continuous propaganda through various media.
  • Conducting seminars and discussions on Thakali Bhansaghar and Thakali Food from time to time and conducting studies on this matter and encouraging the members to make the business more quality and consumer friendly.
  • Create and enforce a code of conduct for members.
  • Conducting continuous training on Thakali Bhansaghar, Thakali Food and Thakali Cooks and making arrangements to attract students or other people who want to do internships or study academically on related subjects.
  • To encourage the members to open and operate Thakali Bhansaghars and its branches by studying the feasibility in different areas of the country.
  • To encourage the members to engage in ancillary business related to purchase and import, transportation, collection, storage, production and processing and packing of necessary items for the production and processing of agricultural and meat products used as raw materials for Thakali Bhansaghars and Thakali Food.
  • Facilitate the operation and promotion of Thakali Bhansaghars or Thakali Food businesses by registering them legally.
  • Encouraging members to use electronic commerce (e-commerce) in the sale and distribution of food.
  • Purchase the land required for the organisation and construct a building or rent or lease it and purchase or lease office equipment and vehicles such as computers, telephones, fax machines.
  • Necessary coordination and cooperation with business-related associations and regulatory bodies.Appointing the employees/staffs needed by the organisation and determining their conditions of service.

  • To do other tasks for achieving the objectives of the organisation.

 

Collective Trade Mark

For maintaining the specific culture or identity of Thakali kitchen forever, it is desirable to use the collective mark to achieve the objectives of bringing uniformity and quality in the process of Thakali Food production and service delivery of the Thakali Bhansaghar, to promote the market of Thakali Bhansaghar and Thakali Food related business at the national and international level, and to contribute to the economic development of the country by protecting and promoting the Thakali culture. In order to ensure that all the members of the organisation can use the same mark collectively, the Thakali Bhansaghar Association Nepal has prepared the Procedures for the Use of Collective Mark, 2080 according to the Collective Marks Registration Directives, 2067, and submitted it to the Government of Nepal, the Ministry of Industry and was approved in 2080 ......

The collective trademark of Thakali Bhansaghar approved by the Government of Nepal, Ministry of Industry is as follows:

The collective trademark of Thakali Bhansaghar will be owned by the Thakali Bhansaghar Association of Nepal.

According to the Procedure for the Use of Collective Mark, 2080, all the members of this organisation are entitled to use the collective mark only for their Thakali Bhansaghars and Thakali Food listed in the organisation. When using it in that way, such a mark should be kept or pasted in a Sign-Board or in a place where everyone can see it in the Thakali Bhansaghar and on the shell or packet/cover of Thakali Food.
